Full description and specifications

Alocasia gageana 'Aurea' (Yellow Variegation) is a spectacular ornamental variety in the Araceae family, appreciated for its distinctive foliage, colored in bright shades of yellow-green (aurea), which gives it an exotic and vibrant appearance. It is a rare and highly sought-after variegated form, derived from the species Alocasia gageana , native to Southeast Asia.

Growing conditions:

Light: Requires bright indirect light to maintain the yellow-green variegation. Low light will cause the color to fade. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause burns.

Temperature: grows optimally between 18–28°C .

Humidity: it needs high atmospheric humidity (over 60%) , being a tropical plant. Frequent spraying or the use of a humidifier is recommended.

Watering: Water regularly, keeping the substrate slightly moist but well-drained. It does not tolerate excess water, which can lead to rotting of the rhizome.

Soil: aerated substrate, rich in organic matter, consisting of peat, perlite, shredded bark and possibly horticultural charcoal.

Fertilization: during the growing period (spring-autumn), apply balanced fertilizer (NPK) every 2-3 weeks, in reduced doses to protect the rhizome.

Note: Alocasia is a sensitive plant. Therefore, it is possible that you will receive these plants with some defects on the leaves, but these do not affect the viability of the plant.

All specimens show specific variegation.
