Full description and specifications

Skimmia japonica 'Perosa' is a variety of Skimmia, an evergreen shrub that is part of the Rutaceae family. This variety is appreciated for its glossy, dark green leaves with cream edges, and for its ability to withstand partial or full shade conditions.

Skimmia 'Perosa' produces dense inflorescences, composed of small, creamy-white or pale pink flowers, which appear in spring and have a delicate fragrance. The fruits, which appear on female plants if there is a male pollinator nearby, are bright red berries that persist on the plant throughout the winter, adding a beautiful color contrast to the landscape.
It is a compact shrub, which at maturity reaches a height and width of approximately 1-1.5 meters, making it suitable for cultivation in small gardens, as a border plant or in containers on terraces and balconies. It prefers well-drained, fertile soils, and a slightly acidic to neutral environment. Although it is resistant to low temperatures, protection against strong winds and direct sunlight during the summer can help maintain the healthy appearance of the leaves.
It withstands temperatures of - 23 degrees Celsius.
