Philodendron 'Red Anderson'
Philodendron ‘Red Anderson’ is a rare and spectacular hybrid from the Araceae family, prized for its variegated foliage and intensely red stems. It is believed to result from a cross between Philodendron ‘Pink Princess’ and Philodendron ‘White Knight’, combining distinctive traits of both varieties.
🔹 Botanical characteristics:
• Leaves: Large, glossy, and heart-shaped, with a color palette ranging from dark green and burgundy to creamy white and pale pink. The variegation is unique to each leaf, creating a marbled or sectoral appearance.
• Stems: Deep red or burgundy, creating a beautiful contrast with the variegated foliage.
• Growth: It tends to grow slowly and can be grown as either a trailing plant or a houseplant with a vertical support.
🔹 Recommended care:
• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light; direct sunlight can scorch the leaves.
• Soil: Well-draining and rich in organic matter; a mix of peat, perlite, and vermiculite is ideal.
• Watering: Water moderately, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out between waterings; avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
• Temperature: Grows best at temperatures between 18–27°C; sensitive to temperatures below 13°C.
• Humidity: Prefers high humidity; periodic misting or the use of a humidifier is recommended.
• Fertilizing: During active growth (spring–summer), apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks.
🔹 Propagation: Can be propagated from stem cuttings with visible nodes. The cuttings can be rooted in water or directly in moist substrate, maintaining consistent humidity and warm temperatures.
Philodendron ‘Red Anderson’ is an excellent choice for collectors of rare plants and anyone looking to add a colorful tropical accent to their indoor space.
Note: The degree of variegation varies from plant to plant. All specimens in this batch display the characteristic variegation. Plants will be selected at random. No discussions or disputes regarding variegation or ID will be accepted.
📌 Note: Leaves may have natural imperfections, minor tears, scratches, marked edges, superficial spots, or slightly damaged areas caused by handling, transport, or adapting to a new environment. As this is a sensitive variegated variety, leaves may also have noticeable differences in shape, texture, or color, and some light-colored areas may be more fragile. These characteristics are normal and do not affect the plant’s viability.
