Full description and specifications

Philodendron mexicanum - botanical species with large, intense green, glossy, narrow and long leaves, which become trilobed at maturity. The lower part of the leaves shows impressive colors whose intensity varies depending on the exposure to light. The young leaves are also colored in shades of green and yellow.

The plant is considered easy to care for and shows relatively fast growth.

Growth style: Climbing plant. In nature, it attaches itself to tree trunks - it tends to develop strong aerial roots.

This variety has nectar-producing glands on the back of the leaves. The nectar has the role of attracting ants in search of food - thus, the plant gains a supply of chemicals secreted by them, but also takes advantage of the aggressive way in which the ant colonies defend their territory and food source, protecting the philodendron from other harmful insects .
Some specimens show a slight variegation, on some leaves (mottled variegation). Some specimens may have marks/scars on the leaves. This aspect is considered normal.

Height with pots included approx. 30-40 cm

Note: specimens with an immature leaf - it does not yet have a specific shape.
