Cylindropuntia fulgida (Opuntia fulgida) - Chain-link Cactus

Cylindropuntia fulgida (syn. Opuntia fulgida), commonly known as Chain-link Cactus or Devil's Rope Cactus, is a species native to the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico, valued for its shrubby habit and cylindrical branches arranged like chains. Its sculptural appearance and distinctive growth make it an exceptional plant for cactus collections and xerophytic gardens.

As it matures, the plant develops numerous cylindrical segments covered with golden spines and glochids, forming a dense and spectacular shrub. Mature specimens may produce light-colored flowers, followed by fruits that remain attached to the plant for long periods, contributing to the species’ characteristic appearance.

🌞 Growing conditions:

• Temperature: optimal growing range: 18-30°C. Protecting the plant from temperatures below 5°C is recommended.
