Botanical identity and origin. Hoya lobbii Hook.f. is an accepted botanical name, published in 1883. Its recognized native range extends from Assam to Indochina, including Thailand. 'Black' is not a separate species and has not been found as a published taxon; it remains a label for plants with darker flowers within this group.
