Hoya acuta 'Albomarginata' is a cultivar with marginal variegation. The foliage is elliptical and glossy, with a dark green center and cream-yellow margins. IML 1625 is a collection number associated with the clone, not a different taxon. The flowers are creamy white and waxy, with a yellow-pink to yellow-orange corona, grouped in dense, fragrant umbels. It has a vining growth habit. The light-colored edging brightens any corner of the room.

Foliage and growth. The leaves are opposite, elliptical, thick, and glossy. The variegation is outer: the center remains green, while the margins range from creamy white to pale yellow. The width of the light band varies from leaf to leaf; some blades may be almost half yellow. On new growth, the margins may temporarily have a pink tinge that fades over time. It is not splash variegation and not inner variegation. The stems are flexible and vining, and can be trained on a support or left trailing. The ceramic pot shown in the styling photographs is not included in the price.

Flowers and fragrance. The umbels are dense, with creamy-white, waxy, star-shaped flowers. The corona is yellow-pink to yellow-orange. The fragrance is sweet, with a slightly spicy note; perceived intensity varies. Hoya peduncles in this group may remain on the vine and bloom again. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Identity. The title retains Hoya acuta 'Albomarginata'.Don; Hoya acuta Haw. is a synonym, not a separate species. The species' native range is broad, extending from the Indian subcontinent to southern China and western and central Malesia; Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia are part of its range, but do not encompass it entirely.

Potting mix: use an airy, well-draining mix suitable for epiphytic species. We recommend the professional potting mix for Hoya and Anthurium - SG Mix.
