Full description and specifications

Epidendrum schlechterianum is a botanical species that can be found in Central and South America, in countries such as Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru . It was described for the first time in 1912 by the German botanist Rudolf Schlechter, after which it was named in his honor.

Epidendrum schlechterianum is an epiphytic orchid with erect or ascending stems, which can grow up to a length of approximately 15-40 cm. The leaves are lanceolate, fleshy, with whole edges, arranged alternately along the stem, which gives the plant an unusual appearance. They measure approximately 4-12 cm in length and 0.8-2 cm in width.

The inflorescence is terminal, with a length of 10-20 cm, bearing between 5-15 flowers. The flowers are small, about 2-3 cm in diameter, with white or greenish-yellow petals and sepals. The label is trilobed, white in color with a slight shade of pink or purple towards the base. The flowers are fragrant and have a sweet smell.
