Laurus nobilis, commonly known as bay laurel or laurel, is an iconic plant of the Mediterranean region, appreciated since ancient times both for its beauty and for its symbolic and practical value. Considered a symbol of victory, purity, and success, laurel crowned the kings, emperors, and heroes of Antiquity, retaining its noble and elegant aura to this day.

Today, Laurus nobilis is widely cultivated as an ornamental plant, as well as an indispensable aromatic herb in the kitchen. Its lanceolate leaves, an intense dark green with a glossy upper surface, are highly fragrant and frequently used to flavor culinary dishes.

❄️ Temperature resistance:

Bay laurel tolerates low temperatures down to around -7°C under favorable soil and moisture conditions. In areas with harsher winters, planting it in a sheltered location or protecting the roots with a layer of mulch is recommended. Specimens grown in pots should be moved to a frost-free space when temperatures drop below zero.
