Cereus peruvianus florida 'paolina'
27,00 kr
Cereus peruvianus, also known as the 'Peruvian cactus,' is a plant from the Cereus genus, native to South America. The 'Paolina' variety is a cultivated form of this species and may have some distinct features that set it apart from its wild form.
Generally, Cereus peruvianus is known for its upright growth, branching out and reaching impressive heights in its natural habitat, sometimes over 15-20 meters, although when grown indoors it will be much shorter. The stems are usually dark green, with prominent ribs and are covered in areoles from which spines grow.
The 'Paolina' flower is likely notable for its blooms, which may differ in color or shape from other Cereus peruvianus varieties. The flowers usually appear at night and are large, fragrant, typically white, but can have shades of pink or other colors depending on the variety. The fruits resulting from pollination are usually fleshy and edible, with a sweet taste.
Caring for this cactus includes exposure to full sun for most of the day and well-drained soil to prevent water retention and root rot. Watering is moderate, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings, and during winter watering is significantly reduced to simulate their native dry conditions.
