Full description and specifications
Aeonium arboreum are strange succulents with long, arching stems and rosette-shaped leaves that can often look so perfect you might think they're fake.
There are about 35 species of Aeonium, and most are native to the Canary Islands. These plants prefer a Mediterranean climate - not too hot, not too cold, not too dry.
The plants form fleshy rosettes and you will notice a similarity between Aeoniums and other succulents, most notably Echeveria and Sempervivum.
Like most succulents, Aeonium plants grow best in full sun to partial shade. In hot summers, a slight shade may be necessary.
Although Aeonium tolerates a variety of soil types - as long as they are well drained, it prefers loose and porous soil. For the garden, the Aeonium plant, we recommend a moderately moist environment with good drainage.
This plant tolerates drought and hates water around its roots, so be careful to avoid excessive watering. In the wild, these succulents are inactive during the summer, so the lack of rain during the warmer months allows the plants to dry out between waterings. In winter, reduce watering to once a month.
Aeonium grows in temperatures between 5 and 38 degrees Celsius. In winter, Aeoniums grow best with night temperatures of 10°C.
