Ficus carica 'Bornholm' - Rustic fig tree, of Scandinavian origin (Bornholm island, Denmark), much more tolerant regarding temperatures and continental winters. The fruits are large, with an average weight of 50-60 grams (up to 90-100g), sweet and fragrant. Variety with two fruitings per year, medium size and medium vigor. It shows high tolerance to moisture.

Other known names: Ficus carica 'Bornholm's Diamant'

Garden hardiness. It withstands down to -30°C without significant losses. Hardiness increases as the plant matures, the root system develops, and the branches thicken. It is recommended to protect the plants in the first years by wrapping them with microporous foil (frost protection foil, Agril-type foil, etc.). Cases of frost on fig trees involve damage to the above-ground parts - but the root remains alive, and the plant regrows in spring.

Resistance to diseases and pests. Fig trees are considered ‘pest free’.

Parthenocarpic variety - it is self-fertile and does not require a pollinator.

Pot diameter: 15 cm. Height including pot: approx. 40-60 cm. (varies depending on season)

Plants for garden or terrace are grown in unprotected spaces or with minimal protection (shade nets or hail nets). For this reason, naturally, they cannot have perfect foliage - leaves may show marks, defects, or other damage.

In the autumn-winter season, fig trees are sold leafless and are pruned to encourage branching.
