Stephania erecta (Stephania pierrei)

Stephania Erecta is an exotic and attractive plant, with an interesting caudex and round leaves. Although it may appear delicate, it is relatively easy to care for if you provide the right conditions.

Stephania Erecta care:

• Light: It prefers bright locations, but avoid direct sunlight during the most intense periods.
• Temperature: The ideal temperature is between 18 and 25°C during the growing season. During winter, it can tolerate lower temperatures, but not below 10°C.
• Humidity: It appreciates moderate humidity. Occasional leaf misting can be beneficial.
• Soil: Use a well-draining substrate, suitable for cacti and succulents.
• Watering: During the growing season, water moderately, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Significantly reduce watering during winter, when the plant enters dormancy.
• Fertilization: Apply diluted fertilizer for succulent plants during the growing season, approximately once a month. Avoid fertilizing during winter.
• Dormancy: Late autumn, Stephania Erecta begins to lose its leaves and enters dormancy. During this period,significantly reduce watering and move the plant to a cooler location.
• Repotting: Repot in spring, at the beginning of the growing season, only if the pot has become too small. Choose a pot slightly larger than the previous one.

Common Problems

• Root rot: Caused by overwatering. Make sure the soil dries out well between waterings.
• Yellow leaves: They may indicate a lack of nutrients or insufficient watering. Check the fertilization and watering schedule.
