Scadoxus multiflorus (Blood Lily)

Scadoxus multiflorus, also known as the Fire Lily or Blood Lily, is a perennial plant that belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family. It is native to Africa and is known for its spectacular spherical inflorescence, with numerous small flowers, usually red or orange, that appear before or together with the leaves. The leaves are large, ovate in shape and dark green.

Care :

Light : Prefers indirect but strong light. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves.

Watering : Water moderately, letting the soil dry a little between waterings.

Ideal temperature : It prefers moderate temperatures, between 18-25 degrees Celsius.

Fertilization : Apply a diluted fertilizer once a month during the growth period.

Replanting : Do it once every few years, when the pot becomes too small for the size of the bulb.

Rest period : The plant has a rest period in which it loses its leaves. During this time, reduce watering. The plant may have defective leaves.

Toxicity : The plant is toxic and must be kept away from animals and children.
