Full description and specifications
The Paphiopedilum Debbie Robinson orchid is the result of crossing the species Paphiopedilum appletonianum × Paphiopedilum wardii.
The genus name derives from the name of the city of Paphos, in Cyprus, dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite (also known as Paphia), where the legend says that she was incarnated from the foam of the sea, together with the word pedilon (ancient Greek), meaning sandal or slipper. The name of the orchids of this genus, in Romanian, Venus' Slipper, is a translation of the scientific name.
