Mimosa pudica – Mimosa, the "Touch-me-not" plant

Mimosa pudica, commonly known as sensitive plant or “Touch-me-not”, is famous for the spectacular movement of its leaves: at the slightest touch, they fold instantly and gradually return to their original shape after a few minutes. This unique behavior has made it an extremely popular collector’s plant, especially among children and lovers of interactive plants.

The leaves are delicate and compound, with a light green color, and the plant can also produce globular, pinkish-lilac flowers with a fluffy appearance.

• Light: prefers bright, indirect light; it grows well on sunny windowsills

• Temperature: ideally between 20–28°C; sensitive to cold

• Watering: keep the soil fresh and slightly moist, but well drained; it does not tolerate completely drying out

• Humidity: appreciates moderate to high humidity

• Substrate: rich in organic matter and well aerated

• Fertilization: once every 2–3 weeks during the active growing period
