Hoya sp. aff. burtoniae (variegated) - an endemic species from the Philippines. The plant is relatively compact, with hanging vines. The flowers are dark red and have a strong honey scent.
The leaves turn reddish or even dark red when the plant is grown in strong light or direct sun.
There are many controversies regarding the true identity of plants in the Acanthostemma section - this plant has been sold over time also as Hoya sp. DS-70, Hoya burtoniae, Hoya bilobata (incorrect), Hoya tsangii (incorrect). From our analyses and generally available knowledge, this is a Hoya species affiliated with burtoniae (a species without a name, associated with burtoniae due to multiple similarities) - unlike Hoya burtoniae, the leaves are much larger, thicker, and sharper, with much more prominent veins.
Hoya sp. aff. burtoniae belongs to the Acanthostemma section.

Fragrant flowers: YES

Note: The length of the vines varies from one specimen to another. In the same pot, there can be both variegated vines and reverted or without variegation.
