Hoya carnosa 'Silver Moon' (AH-074)

Hoya carnosa 'Silver Moon' (AH-074) is a carnosa cultivar with thick, dark green foliage covered in silver splash. Some leaves may be almost entirely silver. Splash is the silver pattern on the leaves. Its distribution varies from one leaf to another and from one vine to another. AH-074 is the clone code. The flowers of this group are star-shaped, pink, and fragrant. The silver splash shines in filtered light.

Foliage and growth. The blades are thick, succulent, and carnosa-type, with silver speckling or marbling on a green background. The intensity of the splash is not identical on every vine; almost green leaves and almost silver leaves may appear. It is not an albomarginated border and is not stable inner variegation. New growth may be affected during transport or handling.

Flowers and fragrance. The flowers are star-shaped, pubescent, and grouped in spherical umbels. The color ranges from pale pink to pink, sometimes with salmon tones, with a darker corona. The fragrance is characteristic of the carnosa group. Its intensity may vary. Flowering depends on the plant's maturity and growing conditions.

Identity. The botanical name of the species is Hoya carnosa (L.f.) R.Br. Its native range includes China, Taiwan, Japan, Hainan, Laos, and Myanmar. 'Silver Moon' (AH-074) is the commercial cultivar in this batch. Distinct from albomarginated selections or 'Nova Ghost'.
