Hoya albiflora is a vigorous and rare epiphytic Hoya species native to Papua New Guinea, valued for its large, elegant leaves and especially for its pure white flowers and intense fragrance.

The plant grows quickly, trailing/climbing, forming long and flexible vines – ideal for hanging baskets or supports. The leaves are large, elliptic-lanceolate (10–18 cm long × 5–9 cm wide), light to medium green, thick, slightly pubescent, with clearly visible veins, giving a tropical and succulent appearance.

The flowers appear in large, dense umbels, are waxy, porcelain-like, of a pure immaculate white, with a slightly cup-shaped or star form, having a refined and glossy look. They have a strong and pleasant fragrance, with sweet-musk notes, especially noticeable in the evening and at night – one of the most fragrant white Hoyas!

Main features:

  • Size: medium, with long vines
  • Leaf type: large, elliptic, thick, green with clear veins
  • Flower type: pure white, waxy, in dense umbels
  • Fragrance: yes, strong and sweet-musk (pronounced in the evening)
  • Flowering period: variable, more frequent in summer-autumn

Simple and practical care:

  • Light: bright indirect, tolerates medium light
  • Temperature: warm-intermediate (tolerates heat well)
  • Watering: allow the substrate to partially dry between waterings (drought tolerant due to thick leaves)
  • Humidity: medium-high, with good ventilation
  • Substrate: airy mix for Hoyas (bark + perlite + a little sphagnum)

An elegant and vigorous white Hoya with spectacular flowers and strong fragrance – a true gem for collectors!
