Caladium 'Chinook' is an impressive variety of caladium, known for its spectacular leaves that add a touch of color to any space. It is part of the Araceae family and is native to the tropical regions of South America.

Care

  1. Light : Caladium prefers bright places, but avoid direct sunlight. Too much light can burn the leaves, while too little light will cause the vibrant colors to fade.

  2. Watering : This plant requires a constantly moist soil, but not overwatered. Watering should be adjusted according to the ambient temperature and humidity, increasing the frequency in summer and reducing it in winter.

  3. Temperature and Humidity : Caladium thrives in high humidity and temperatures between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. Avoid exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius.

  4. Fertilizer : Fertilize the plant once a month during the active growth period (spring-summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.

  5. Soil : Choose a soil rich in organic matter, with good drainage.

Caladium is a very sensitive plant to transport (especially temperature changes). Therefore, it is possible to receive these plants with significant defects on the leaves, but these do not affect the viability of the plant. Under optimal care conditions, the new leaves will develop normally.
