Hoya propagation
Hoya can be grown both from seeds and cuttings. The easiest and fastest method is the latter. From the mature plant, cut a branch with 1-3 nodes. Remove the leaves from the base of the cutting, use a rooting hormone if desired, then insert it into sphagnum or substrate with low organic matter content, moist (e.g., 3 parts perlite and 1 part peat). Hoya cuttings can also be left in water until roots appear - this usually takes about 3 weeks.
Water and light
Most Hoya species prefer moist substrate, but without massive water retention. For Hoya, a substrate that ensures proper water drainage will be used. Reduce watering in the winter months.
Hoya prefers less intense morning sun. Light is an important factor that ensures reblooming. Most Hoya species are epiphytes and grow well when hung under trees, where light is filtered and the temperature is slightly lower.
Fertilization
Fertilize at 50% concentration compared to the instructions on the package, during spring, summer, and autumn seasons. In the cold season, fertilization should be stopped or reduced.
