Tephrocactus strobiliformis is a species of cactus from the genus Tephrocactus, native to Argentina. This cactus belongs to the family Cactaceae and the subfamily Opuntioideae.

Tephrocactus strobiliformis (Pine Cone Cactus) is a compact cactus that produces branched segments resembling the shape of a pine cone.

Also known as "pinecone cactus" or "pine cone cactus," T. strobiliformis has an unusual appearance, with a shape reminiscent of a pine cone. It grows in cylindrical or conical segments, light green or blue-green in color. Each segment has small bumps (called tubercles), from which plate-like spines emerge, giving the characteristic "pine cone" look.

This cactus is a small-sized variety, growing up to about 15 cm in height. Its flowers are usually white or pale pink.

T. strobiliformis is adapted to dry conditions, requiring direct and intense sunlight, as well as well-drained soil to prevent root rot. Like other cacti, it needs limited watering, as it can store water in its fleshy tissues.
