Astrophytum capricorne , also known as the “Capricorn cactus” , is a species native to Mexico, highly prized for its distinctive appearance. The body is globular or slightly cylindrical, dark green, furrowed by broad ribs, sprinkled with fine white dots. What makes it unique are the long, thin and twisted spines , reminiscent of the horns of an animal. In summer, the plant produces large, yellow flowers with a red-orange center , of great ornamental value.
