Alocasia plumbae 'Flying Squid'
Let me know when it’s back in stock!
Alocasia plumbae, also known as 'Flying Squid' Alocasia, is a unique species. Instead of huge, lush leaves, this variety has leaves that resemble tentacles. It is also often confused with a tillandsia, the appearance being quite similar if we ignore the peculiarities.
Aside from its unique appearance, this variety is not at all fussy and is cared for like any other alocasia - or even easier, according to some collector groups.
This Alocasia prefers well-drained soil and a high humidity environment. Like other plants in this genus, it grows best in bright indirect light, but can tolerate varying levels of light. However, it does not like bright direct light, which can burn the leaves.
As for watering, it is best to let the soil dry out a bit between waterings to prevent root rot. The plant also appreciates a regular supply of balanced fertilizer during the growing season.
Note: Alocasia is a sensitive plant. Therefore, it is possible that you will receive these plants with some defects, but these do not affect the viability of the plant.
