Callisia repens, known in Romania also by the common names dwarf tradescantia, turtle grass, or frog plant, is a small-sized plant with a trailing habit, highly valued for its small, rounded leaves, densely arranged on thin and flexible shoots. The color varies from dark green to green with pink-lilac or silvery iridescence, depending on the light and variety.

It is an excellent choice for hanging pots, edges of flower boxes, mini gardens, terrariums, or as ground cover in larger pots. Easy to care for and fast growing, Callisia repens is a decorative, versatile plant friendly to beginners.

• Light: strong indirect light – in good light the pink shades intensify; in shade it may become uniformly green

• Temperature: optimal between 18–26°C

• Watering: moderate – water when the surface of the soil dries; avoid overwatering

• Soil: well-drained, airy – universal substrate with perlite or mix for indoor plants

• Fertilizing: once a month in the warm season, with diluted liquid fertilizer

In low light and excessive humidity, the plant may become elongated (etiolated) and lose its density. Regular pruning helps maintain a compact and lush appearance.
