Rhipsalis mesembryanthemoides is a tropical epiphytic cactus, valued for its fine, dense appearance, formed by numerous thin, cylindrical stems that branch abundantly and gradually develop a trailing habit. Unlike classic desert cacti, this species grows naturally in tropical environments, where it uses trees for support without parasitizing them.

It is a highly decorative plant for hanging pots, where its stems can form delicate green cascades. The flowers are small and whitish, and small, round fruits may appear later.
