Delosperma echinatum is a curious and decorative succulent, native to South Africa, prized for its fleshy leaves covered with translucent hairs , which give it a "spiky" appearance, but are soft to the touch. Due to this unique appearance, the plant is also known as the "Pickle Plant" or "spiky ice plant".
In addition to its unique foliage, Delosperma echinatum produces small, starry flowers in shades of pale yellow , which appear especially in spring and summer, adding an extra touch of delicacy to the plant.
