Opuntia microdays (Bunny Ears cactus) is a flowering cactus species from the Cactaceae family, native to the central and northern regions of Mexico.
The cactus is among the most popular houseplants due to its easy care. Like most plants, it needs light, suitable soil, water, and fertilizer.

Placement: bright space, cooler in winter, sunny in summer
Humidity: water once a month in winter, once a week in summer with a little water
Substrate: neutral Dutch peat or sand mixed with gravel
Propagation: by separating the pups from the mother plant or by seeds
Characteristics: Succulents and cacti should not be overwatered; too much water leads to plant rot. Cacti that rest in the cold during winter experience a dormancy that encourages abundant flowering the following year. To stimulate flowering, you can apply special cactus fertilizer during the warm season.
