Mammillaria spinosissima 'Un Pico' , also known as the "Cactus with a thorn", is an interesting variety of the genus Mammillaria. It is appreciated for its compact and symmetrical appearance, but also for its characteristic thorns and spectacular flowers.
Care:
Light: It needs intense and direct light to develop properly and bloom.
Place the cactus in a sunny spot, such as a south-facing window.
Watering: Water moderately during the growing season (spring and summer), allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings.
Reduce watering in autumn and stop it almost completely in winter, when the plant goes into rest.
Soil: Use a special mixture for cacti, well drained, consisting of sand, perlite and garden soil.
Avoid soils that retain moisture, as they can cause root rot.
Temperature: Prefer temperatures between 20-30°C in the warm season.
It tolerates low temperatures, but not below 5°C. It is recommended to be protected from frost.
Fertilization: Apply a liquid cactus fertilizer once a month during the growing season. Do not fertilize in winter.
Transplant: Transplant the plant every 2-3 years, depending on growth, using a pot with good drainage.
Height with pot included approx. 8 cm
The plant is sold without flowers.
