Being a small cactus, G. borthii var. nogolense is ideal for miniature cactus collections , terrariums or xerophytic gardens. Its flowering adds an extra appeal, as it produces delicate flowers in shades of pale pink or white, with a yellowish center , contrasting beautifully with its dark green body.

Care instructions

To maintain the health of this delicate cactus, it is essential to provide it with a well-drained environment and adequate light exposure:

🌿 Light: Preferably bright indirect light or filtered sun . Too much direct sun can lead to burns on the surface of the cactus.

🌡️ Temperature: It grows optimally between 10-30°C . It tolerates low temperatures down to 5°C , but must be protected from frost.

💧 Watering: Moderate to low! Water once every 2-3 weeks in the warm season and once every 4-6 weeks in the winter, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings.

🌱 Substrate: A well-drained mix for cacti, with sand, gravel and perlite , to avoid water stagnation.

🌿 Fertilization: Apply a special fertilizer for cacti (NPK 5-10-10) once every 2 months during the growing period (spring-summer).

🪴 Transplantation: Recommended once every 3-4 years , to provide space for the roots and renew the substrate.
