Elaeagnus x ebbingei 'Viveleg' is a hybrid between Elaeagnus pungens and Elaeagnus macrophylla, introduced in 1929 in the UK. Elaeagnus x ebbingei 'Viveleg' is a special cultivar, with variegated foliage, very decorative.

Flowers : It produces small, fragrant, white or cream flowers, but these are generally not the focal point of the plant.

Fruits : Produces edible fruits, the size of olives or cherries, which ripen in early spring, usually at the end of March - beginning of April. The fruits are aromatic and reminiscent of black cherries in taste.

Resistance : It is a very resistant plant, able to tolerate a wide range of soils and climatic conditions, including drought. Holds well until -15°C. Planting in areas protected from strong winter winds is recommended.
