Cleistocactus samaipatanus
€7,95
Cleistocactus samaipatanus is a cactus native to Bolivia, specifically from the Samaipata area, from which it takes its name. It is a fleshy plant that grows upright and is often valued for its decorative appearance.
Cleistocactus samaipatanus has a columnar growth, reaching impressive heights as it ages. It has a structure with multiple thin and long ribs.
The surface of the cactus is covered with rather short spines, but many and compact. The spines are generally yellow or golden, offering a pleasant contrast with the green of the stem.
The flowers of this cactus are elongated and tubular, usually in shades of red or pink. Because they are "cleisto" (closed), they do not open fully like the flowers of other cacti.
Like most cacti, Cleistocactus samaipatanus prefers well-drained soil and exposure to strong but indirect light. Watering is moderate, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings.
Height with pot included approx. 15 cm
The plant is sold without flowers.
