Citrus 'Meyer' is a hybrid of Citrus limon, originating from China, introduced to the United States by Frank Meyer, hence its name. Although it was recently introduced in the USA, bred, and then quickly spread worldwide, it seems the variety has existed for thousands of years and is the result of a natural cross between a citron and a mandarin or pomelo. The peel smells of lemon, orange, and light jasmine notes.
