Ferocactus glaucescens, also known as the "glaucous cactus" or "blue-green cactus," is a cactus species native to Mexico. This succulent plant has a globular shape in its early growth stages, shifting to a cylindrical form as it matures. It can reach a height of 60 cm and a diameter of 40 cm.

It is recognized for its distinctive color, a bluish-green or glaucous hue, which gives the species its name. Small vertical "ribs" run along its surface, along which are areas with spines. The spines are usually yellow, long, and strong, arranged in groups of 5-7 on each areole.

Its flowers, which appear at the top of the plant, are yellow and can reach up to 4 cm in diameter. The fruits range in color from yellow to reddish-brown.

Ferocactus glaucescens is a hardy plant that prefers well-drained soil and requires moderate sun exposure. It is drought-tolerant and can withstand low temperatures if properly protected. This plant is valued for its unique shape and color, as well as its attractive flowers.
