Bulbophyllum glebulosum is a spectacular mini-miniature species of epiphytic orchid, endemic to the Philippines (discovered in mountainous areas of Aurora province, eastern Luzon), at medium altitudes. Described in 2008 by J.J. Vermeulen & Cootes, it is a rare gem for collectors passionate about small, compact Bulbophyllum.

The plant forms spaced pseudobulbs (2.5-4 cm apart), small and ovoid (1.2-2.2 × 0.6-0.9 cm), with elliptical-ovate, acute leaves measuring 7-10 × 2-3 cm, green and glossy. The rhizome is thin, and the growth is creeping, quickly forming dense mats – perfect for mounts or small pots.

The flowers appear singly on short (3-4 cm), spreading inflorescences, with a flower about 2 cm wide (opening widely). The sepals and petals are yellow-green with numerous fine irregular dark red spots (an exotic freckled look), the lip is purplish-red with blackish-purple warts, and the column is greenish with pink-purple wings. The overall appearance is of a miniature "leopard" flower, with interesting texture and fine detail – typical for this section of the genus.

Flower size: approx. 3-4 cm
