Alocasia gageana ‘Aurea’ (Yellow Variegation) is a striking ornamental variety from the Araceae family, valued for its distinctive foliage, colored in bright yellow-green shades (aurea), giving it an exotic and lively appearance. It is a rare and highly sought-after variegated form, derived from the species Alocasia gageana, native to Southeast Asia.

Growing conditions:

Light: requires strong indirect light to maintain the yellow-green variegation. Low light causes the color intensity to fade. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause burns.

Temperature: grows best between 18–28°C.

Humidity: needs high air moisture (over 60%), being a tropical plant. Frequent misting or using a humidifier is recommended.

Watering: water regularly, keeping the soil lightly moist but well drained. Does not tolerate excess water, which can cause rhizome rot.

Soil: airy substrate, rich in organic matter, made of peat, perlite, crushed bark, and possibly horticultural charcoal.

Fertilizing: during the growing season (spring–autumn), apply a balanced fertilizer (NPK) every 2-3 weeks, in small doses to protect the rhizome.

Note: Alocasia is a sensitive plant. Therefore, you may receive these plants with some leaf imperfections, but these do not affect the plant’s viability.

All specimens show the specific variegation.

Height including pot: approx. 15-20 cm
