Aglaonema 'Red Joy'

Aglaonema ‘Red Joy’ is a modern and spectacular variety of Aglaonema (also known as “Chinese Evergreen”), appreciated for its intensely colored leaves in shades of red, pink, and green, with a lush and tropical appearance. It is an easy-to-care-for indoor decorative plant, suitable even for beginners.

🔹 Botanical characteristics:

• Habit: A perennial plant with compact and vertical growth, generally reaching 30–50 cm in height, ideal for pots, offices, or bright corners.

• Leaves: Large, oval-elongated, with a glossy texture. The coloration is spectacular: intense red or coral pink on most of the leaf, with green edges and veins, creating a strong decorative contrast. The leaf shape is symmetrical and elegant.

• Stems: Short, thick, usually reddish shades, supporting the leaves vertically or slightly curved.

🔹 Recommended growing conditions:

• Light: Prefers strong indirect light to maintain leaf color intensity. It also adapts to shadier areas, but coloration may become duller.

• Watering: Moderate. Water when the top layer of the substrate is dry. Does not tolerate excess water – requires good drainage.

• Soil: Aerated and well-drained, ideally peat-based with perlite or a mix for tropical green plants.

• Temperature: Thrives in warm, stable environments. Does not tolerate cold and should be protected from temperatures below 15°C.

• Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Can benefit from occasional misting or a humidifier.

• Fertilization: During the growing season (spring–summer), can be fertilized once a month with fertilizer for decorative foliage plants.

• Propagation: By dividing the clump or stem cuttings.

• Maintenance: Low to medium – requires only proper watering and suitable light to keep its leaves healthy and brightly colored.
