Cattleya can be placed outdoors during summer, in the light.
The ideal temperature for Cattleya is between 18 and 22 ˚C.
Cattleya flowers last for two to three weeks.
During winter, water only once every ten days. In summer, you can water more often, depending on the location. Rainwater is best for the plants. Soak the plant until no bubbles appear, then let it drain well before placing it back.
Give the plant a special fertilizer once a month. Feed Cattleya twice during the winter period. After flowering, treat the plant the same as during flowering. There is no need to cut the stem. A new stem will appear at the base.
A new flower stem emerges from the sheath at the bottom of the leaf. The sheath provides protection in the early stage. The entire process, from the growth of a new branch to its flowering, takes between six and nine months.
