Sempervivum mix - Ear plant
Sempervivum , also known as "fat grass" or "rock plant" , is a genus of perennial succulent plants, valued for their compact appearance and resistance to extreme conditions. It is ideal for rock gardens, rockeries and pots due to its ability to retain water in its leaves and survive in poor soils.
Care conditions:
✔ Light: Prefers sunny places. Intense sun intensifies the color of its leaves. It can tolerate partial shade, but will grow more slowly.
✔ Soil: Requires well-drained, sandy or rocky soil. A mix for succulents or cacti is ideal.
✔ Watering: Water rarely, only when the soil is completely dry. It tolerates drought well, but excessive watering leads to root rot.
✔ Temperature: Withstands extreme temperatures, from -30°C to high temperatures above 30°C .
✔ Humidity: Prefers a dry environment; high humidity can promote the development of fungal diseases.
✔ Fertilizer: It does not require frequent fertilization, but can be stimulated with a weak fertilizer for succulents, applied once a season.
Common problems:
🔹 Soft and rotten leaves: Excessive watering.
🔹 Lack of flowering: The plant is monocarpic (dies after flowering); new rosettes will continue to grow.
🔹 Elongated and pale leaves: Lack of direct light.
Height with pot included approx. 8 cm
